TRENTON, N.J. — A law firm has sued to recover business interruption losses after its insurer refused to pay for lost income from one of the firm’s three New Jersey office locations that was left without power for more than a week after Superstorm Sandy.
Keefe Bartels LLC filed its complaint in Middlesex County Superior Court, alleging that National Fire Insurance of Hartford’s decision to deny business interruption coverage for its Red Bank, N.J., office was based on the improper application of what its says is an unenforceable hail and windstorm exclusion in the firm’s policy.
