TRENTON, N.J. — A New Jersey homeowner whose residence was damaged by Superstorm Sandy has sued Harleysville Insurance Co. of New Jersey, alleging that the insurer refused to cover the entirety of his flood claim based on what he says was an incorrect classification of his home.
Mark Damiano contends in a lawsuit he filed in Ocean County Superior Court that in denying his Sandy claim, Harleysville mistakenly identified his residence as a “Post-FIRM” building, substantially limiting his recovery under the flood policy.
