NEW YORK — Fraud-related causes of action asserted in two Superstorm Sandy insurance coverage lawsuits have been dismissed by a federal judge who determined that the allegations could not be distinguished from breach of contract claims alleged by the plaintiffs.
The rulings were issued Dec. 3 by U.S. District Judge Sandra J. Feuerstein, who in recent weeks has severed and dismissed claims in numerous multi-plaintiff lawsuits filed against insurers that either denied or refused to fully cover Sandy-related losses.
