TRENTON, N.J. — A federal judge has dismissed breach of contract claims and allegations of fraud and negligence brought against the Standard Fire Insurance Co. after the insurer reclassified flood policies on four New Jersey condominium and apartment buildings damaged by Superstorm Sandy.
Judge Freda L. Wolfson of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey ruled Dec. 4 that causes of action related to two of the buildings should be dismissed outright based on a federal mandate that required Standard to make the policy changes.
