NEW YORK — A federal judge has issued the latest in a string of decisions that will require plaintiffs suing insurance companies over unpaid Superstorm Sandy claims to file their cases individually.
The most recent decision, released Dec. 2 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, separates the claims of six plaintiffs who accuse Nationwide Mutual Fire Insurance Co. of improperly denying their Sandy claims and dismisses from the complaint allegations of bad faith and violation of state business law.
