NEW YORK — The owner of a New York beach property that received payment from its insurer for flood damage caused by Superstorm Sandy has sued American Bankers Insurance Co. of Florida seeking additional coverage for a generator damaged during the storm.
In a complaint filed in Nassau County District Court, 780 Baywalk Land Co. Inc. contends that American Bankers wrongfully denied its $12,000 claim to pay for the damaged generator, citing an exclusion for property that is not covered by a roof.
