MINEOLA, N.Y. — A New York judge dismissed a lawsuit by an architectural design firm that accused its insurance broker of misrepresenting that the company had coverage for more than $50,000 in flood damage caused by Superstorm Sandy.
Nassau County Supreme Court Justice Arthur M. Diamond said in an Oct. 30 order that the Brooklyn, N.Y.-based Lavada Inc. failed to support it broker malpractice claim against SCS Agency Inc. with sufficient evidence that it was misled into believing that flood coverage was in place ahead of the storm.
