Dozens of N.Y. Homeowners Unite to File Superstorm Sandy Lawsuit Against Insurer

NEW YORK — The owners of 64 properties located on Long Island, N.Y., have joined together in filing a federal lawsuit against Stillwater Property and Casualty Insurance Co., accusing the insurer of wrongfully denying claims for flood damage caused by Superstorm Sandy.
In an Oct. 25 lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, the homeowners contend that Stillwater, formerly known as Fidelity National Property and Casualty Co., refused coverage despite what they contend is conclusive evidence that Sandy-related flooding critically damaged their properties.
