TOMS RIVER, N.J. — A New Jersey resident has accused Allstate Flood Insurance of breaching a homeowners’ policy by underpaying his claim for flood damages caused by Superstorm Sandy.
The complaint, filed in the Ocean County (N.J.) Superior Court, says Allstate also breached the policy by failing to provide timely adjustment, evaluation and compensation.
Allstate issued Cary Garcia a homeowners’ policy covering his Manahawkin, N.J., home. On Oct. 29, 2012, the residence allegedly experienced extensive flooding damages caused by Superstorm Sandy.
