NEW YORK — A construction manager for a $700 million building project in New York City has filed a declaratory judgment action against several insurers for coverage of a crane collapse that occurred during Superstorm Sandy.
In a lawsuit filed Sept. 16 in New York County Supreme Court, Lend Lease Construction LMB Inc. and Extell West 57th Street LLC, the owner of the mixed use hotel and residential building that was under construction at the time of the collapse accuse several insurers of breaching their coverage obligations under a builders’ risk policy issued in conjunction with the project.
