NEW YORK — A New York City law firm has sued The Hartford insurance company and electric utility Consolidated Edison for business losses and property damage suffered as a result of Superstorm Sandy.
In a lawsuit filed July 25 in New York County Supreme Court, the law firm of Borah, Goldstein, Altschuler, Nahins & Goidel says that The Hartford improperly categorized its more than $350,000 in business losses as “flood-related” and that ConEd was negligent in preparing for the storm, which knocked out power to the firm’s offices for nearly a week.
