Shore Restaurant Sues Scottsdale, Hartford Steam Boilers for Coverage of Superstorm Sandy Damage

TRENTON, N.J. — An eatery on the New Jersey shore has sued its commercial property insurers for coverage of Superstorm Sandy-related damage.
Port Pires LLC, which owns the Portuguese Shamrock in Bradley Beach, N.J., filed the lawsuit in Monmouth County Superior Court about a month before Scottsdale Insurance Co. removed the case to federal court on July 19.
According to the lawsuit, Superstorm Sandy caused damage to the restaurant property, as well as business losses, that Port Pires says are covered under policies issued by Scottsdale and Hartford Steam Boilers Insurance and Insp. Co. Causes of action have also been …
