Bakery Sues Travelers, Says Named Storm Endorsement Covers Superstorm Sandy Damages

NEW YORK — A baked goods distributor in New York has sued Travelers Indemnity Company of America, alleging that it wrongfully denied coverage of more than $150,000 in Superstorm Sandy-related damages to its operations.
The complaint, filed in Queens County Supreme Court and removed July 16 to federal court in New York says an endorsement in MRS Baking Distribution Corp.’s businessowners property policy provides coverage for the loss and that Travelers has breached its contract and covenant of good faith in denying the claim.
