CAMDEN, N.J. — A New Jersey couple whose insurer offered them $80,000 less than they were entitled under a flood policy has filed a federal lawsuit seeking coverage for the remaining value of Superstorm Sandy-related damage to their home.
The June 26 complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey accuses Hartford Insurance Company of the Midwest of refusing to fully reimburse the couple for what they say was more than $120,000 worth of “serious and permanent damage” to their Ventnor City home caused by storm surge and tidal water from Sandy.
