Law Firm Forced to Evacuate During Superstorm Sandy Sues Insurer for Business Losses

CAMDEN, N.J. — An Atlantic City law firm that was denied coverage for business losses incurred after it was ordered to shut down and evacuate during Superstorm Sandy has sued its insurance carriers.
In a complaint filed in Atlantic County Superior Court, Cooper Levenson April Niedelman & Wagenheim says Harleysville Insurance Co., Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. and several unidentified defendants committed bad faith and violated the state consumer fraud act when they agreed to pay just $25,000 of the more than $900,000 in losses claimed by the firm.
