NEW YORK — Two New York homeowners have filed a lawsuit accusing Narragansett Bay Insurance Co. of fraud in estimating the extent of wind damage to their New York property caused by Superstorm Sandy.
In a Nassau County Supreme Court lawsuit Narragansett removed to federal court on June 4, Fouad and Bita Pouyafar contend that they have received only a fraction of the $200,000 they say is owed under a homeowners policy they purchased from the insurer.
The Pouyafars’ Westbury, N.Y., home sustained significant damage caused by winds from Superstorm Sandy, the complaint says. They submitted a claim for damage …
