NEW YORK — The owner of a New York office building that renewed its flood policy one day after it sustained nearly $500,000 worth of damage from Superstorm Sandy has sued The Standard Fire Insurance Co. for refusing to cover its insurance claim.
In a May 16 lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, 84 Albany Avenue Real Estate Associates accuses Standard Fire of wrongfully denying its claim for flood damage based on a lapse in coverage that 84 Albany says never occurred.
