PHILADELPHIA — A federal judge has remanded a lawsuit filed by a Pennsylvania resident who alleges that State Farm refused to fully reimburse him under a renter’s insurance policy for personal property damage caused by Superstorm Sandy.
In an April 8 sua sponte order, U.S. District Court Judge Berle M. Schiller said that even after “scouring” Bakarr Bangura’s complaint, he was unable to turn up anything suggesting that the damages sought by Bangura exceed the $75,000 requirement needed for his court to retain jurisdiction over the case.
