BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A New York dentist whose office was damaged by sewer and sump pump backup during Superstorm Sandy has sued his insurer, alleging it denied his claim for coverage despite a policy endorsement that he says specifically covers the loss.
In a complaint removed to federal court March 22 by The Travelers Indemnity Co., Brooklyn, N.Y.-based Dr. Lieberman & Associates says that the claim for coverage under a Businessowners Insurance Policy was denied as part of company-wide decision by Travelers to avoid paying claims related to Superstorm Sandy.
