NEW YORK — A New York car dealer has filed a federal lawsuit against Maiden Specialty Insurance Co., alleging the insurer applied the wrong deductible in reimbursing it for storm surge damage to hundreds of vehicles that occurred during Superstorm Sandy.
Giuffre Hyundia and several of its affiliated dealerships brought the complaint March 18 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, claiming that the deductible shortfall and discounts applied by Maiden to the value of damaged cars total nearly $1 million.
