PITTSBURGH — Parties to a lawsuit in which landowners complain that a drilling company’s planned fracking operations are beyond the scope of a 2006 lease have notified the court that they will engage in mediation in an effort to resolve their differences.
Galen E. Kalp and other family members and WPX Energy Appalachia LLC submitted a notice to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania Aug. 6, indicating that they have agreed to share the costs of a mediation session before neutral Cyril Fox, professor emeritus at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
