CHARLESTON, W.Va. - A fracking fluid manufacturer defending a toxic tort suit has asked a West Virginia federal court to amend its protective order to prevent the chemical description of its products from being revealed in discovery. Bombardiere v. Schlumberger Technology Corp., No. 1:11-cv-00050 (N.D. W.Va.).
Schlumberger Technology Corp. contends in its April 24 opposition brief that the protective order issued by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia is inadequate to protect its trade secrets and fails to meet the standards set by the 4th Circuit for such discovery.
