Federal Judge Releases Texas Eastern's $500,000 Bond in Pipeline Easement Dispute

HARRISBURG, Pa. - A Pennsylvania federal judge has released a $500,000 bond posted by Texas Eastern Transmission while it pursued a disputed easement needed for the construction of a 26.5-mile pipeline to transport natural gas. Texas Eastern Transmission, LP v. 3.3 Acres of Land, et al., No. 4:10-cv-02254 (M.D. Pa.).

Judge A. Richard Caputo of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania signed the order on Feb. 17, pursuant to a stipulation between Texas Eastern Transmission LP and property owner Ashton Investment Group LLC, calling for the release.
