Range Resources Removes Pa. Landowners' Suit Objecting to Lease Extension

HARRISBURG, Pa. - A Pennsylvania couple contends in a new lawsuit that actions by Range Resources - Appalachia to consolidate their land with adjacent parcels for drilling purposes were invalid and cannot serve to extend the otherwise expired oil and gas lease. Neuhard, et ux. v. Range Resources - Appalachia, L.L.C., No. 4:11-cv-01989-YK (M.D. Pa.).

The lawsuit was filed by Thomas A. and Barbara S. Neuhard in Lycoming County (Pa.) Court of Common Pleas on Sept. 28 and removed by Range to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania on diversity grounds on Oct. 26.
