COLUMBUS, Ohio - An Ohio municipality is challenging a drilling permit issued by the state's division of Mineral Resources Management, saying it would allow oil drilling too close to a river and to a drinking water well field. City of Munroe Falls, Ohio v. Chief of the Division of Mineral Resources Management of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, et al., No. 10-1901 (Ohio Sup. Ct.).
The Ohio Supreme Court has yet to rule on the petition filed by the City of Munroe on Nov. 4, which is opposed by the permit holder, D&L Energy Inc.
