Pa. Approves $12 Million Water Line for Homeowners Suing Cabot Oil

HARRISBURG, Pa. - A Pennsylvania agency announced its approval for water projects in 21 counties on Nov. 9, including funding for a 12-mile water line that Cabot Oil says will benefit only four families who claim that the company's drilling operations have contaminated private wells.
Among the $174 million in expenditures approved by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority was an $11.6 million grant to Pennsylvania American Water Co. for water lines to the Dimock Township residents who claim that methane gas has seeped into their water wells.
