MDL Court Allows Halliburton to Produce Cement Materials for Testing

NEW ORLEANS - U.S. District Judge Carl J. Barbier has allowed Halliburton Energy Services to turn over cement samples and other materials to federal officials investigating the Deepwater Horizon explosion provided a chain of custody is maintained. In re: Oil Spill by the Oil Rig "Deepwater Horizon" in the Gulf of Mexico, on April 20, 2010, MDL No. 2179 (E.D. La.).
Judge Barbier, who presides over the Deepwater Horizon MDL in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, signed the order on Oct. 27, amending a protective order covering materials related to the April 20 explosion.
