Judge Appoints 13 to Deepwater Defense Steering Committee

NEW ORLEANS - Presiding Judge Carl J. Barbier has named 13 attorneys to the defense steering committee in the Deepwater Horizon multidistrict litigation, some of whom were among a group of nine appointed as defense liaison counsel. In re: Oil Spill by the Oil Rig "Deepwater Horizon" in the Gulf of Mexico, on April 20, 2010, MDL No. 2179 (E.D. La.).

Judge Barbier, who made similar appointments on the plaintiff side last week, released the list of defense appointments on Oct. 19 in Pretrial Order #10.
