MDL Judge Appoints 15 to Plaintiffs Steering Committee

NEW ORLEANS - U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier has appointed 15 attorneys to the Plaintiffs' Steering committee in the Deepwater Horizon MDL, and four to an executive committee to coordinate PSC activities. In re: Oil Spill by the Oil Rig "Deepwater Horizon" in the Gulf of Mexico, on April 20, 2010, MDL No. 2179 (E.D. La.).

Judge Barbier announced the appointments in orders issued on Oct. 8 that spell out members' responsibilities in coordinating discovery and other proceedings in hundreds of cases expected to eventually be transferred to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
