Defendant Found 1 Percent at Fault Assessed 100 Percent of Damages

HOUSTON - A Texas appellate court has affirmed a judgment against a drilling supplier found 1 percent at fault by a Texas jury but assessed 100 percent of the damages from a drilling well mishap after another defendant filed for bankruptcy. Cressman Tubular products Corp. v. Kurt Wiseman Oil & Gas Ltd., et al., No. 14-08-01039-CV (Texas 14th Ct. App.).

Texas' Fourteenth Court of Appeals on Sept. 23 affirmed judgment against Cressman Tubular Products Corp., finding that a trial court did not err in disregarding the jury's finding on proportionate liability and awarding damages solely against Cressman.
