MDL Docket Sought for Federal Lawsuits Involving Atlas Chalet Roofing Shingles

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Plaintiffs have moved to create a consolidated docket for all federal lawsuits filed against Atlas Roofing Corp. over the company’s allegedly defective roofing shingles that plaintiffs say crack and blister prematurely, causing water intrusion damage to homes and commercial properties.

The petition was filed Sept. 17 before the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation and seeks transfer of six cases pending in U.S. District Courts around the country that accuse Atlas of selling its Chalet-brand asphalt shingles with false representations and warranties, despite knowing that the product was defective.
