Plaintiffs Assert Medical Monitoring is Necessary for Exposure to Polyurethane Foam Insulation

PHILADELPHIA - Medical monitoring is needed for people exposed to Insulstar and Sealite polyurethane foam insulation in order to detect latent diseases such as lung damage and neurological issues, plaintiffs assert in their opposition to McLaughlin Spray Foam Insulation Inc.’s motion to dismiss their medical monitoring claim.

In its motion to dismiss, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, McLaughlin asserts that medical monitoring is not appropriate because the plaintiffs have failed to identify the specific monitoring procedures that are allegedly necessary and how that monitoring differs from the normal, preventative care.
