JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida homeowners have filed a class action lawsuit against Georgia-Pacific over the company’s allegedly defective exterior trim that is prematurely deteriorating, causing structural and water-related damage to the plaintiffs’ homes.
In a lawsuit filed March 27 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the plaintiffs allege that Georgia-Pacific’s PrimeTrim, which the company markets as more durable than traditional lumber, is defectively designed and that the company has ignored the plaintiffs’ request to honor its warranty and replace the product.
