FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A federal judge in Florida has declined a contractor’s request to enter a final ruling for summary judgment in a Chinese drywall coverage case, noting that the issue will depend largely on the outcome of the underlying action.
Judge Paul C. Huck of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida said March 4 that JWR Construction Services’ request for a ruling on Great American Insurance Co.’s obligation to cover the contractor for a class action filed by Florida condominium owners is premature because the case is still pending.
