Homeowners Move to Combine Federal Lawsuits Involving Allegedly Toxic Insulation

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Counsel for plaintiffs in Florida have filed a petition to create a single federal docket for more than a half-dozen lawsuits alleging damage caused by a release of allegedly toxic chemicals from a polyurethane spray foam insulation installed in homes throughout the country.
The motion for transfer and coordination of the class action suits was filed Feb. 27 with the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation and seeks the establishment of a consolidated docket in Florida for suits against spray foam manufacturer, and suppliers and installers of the product.
