NEW ORLEANS — The judge overseeing the Chinese Drywall MDL has given final approval to five interrelated settlement agreements to resolve litigation involving Knauf Plasterboard (Tianjin) Co. drywall, suppliers and distributors of the product and their insurers.
In an order certifying settlement classes with claims against more than 700 entities named in the litigation, Judge Eldon E. Fallon held that the plaintiffs met all of the requirements for Rule 23 certification and that the agreements to resolve their claims were negotiated in good faith and should be approved.
