NEW ORLEANS — A federal judge presiding over the coordinated Chinese drywall litigation in Louisiana has granted preliminary approval to four class action settlements involving drywall-related property damage in Virginia.
In a Jan. 17 order, Judge Eldon E. Fallon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana said the four agreements involving suppliers, installers and their insurers, were reached in good faith and are “within the range of possible judicial approval.”
If given final approval, the deals would provide approximately $17.4 million in funding for several hundred homeowners in Virginia whose residences were damaged as a result …
