InEx Parties, North River Reach Accord Following Chinese Drywall Bellwether Verdict

NEW ORLEANS — A settlement agreement has been filed in Louisiana federal court that would release all claims against Interior/Exterior Building Supply Co.’s insurer North River Insurance Co. following a bellwether trial that resulted in a finding that Inex was not a bad faith seller of the defective Chinese drywall.

The deal, made public in a Jan. 16 filing in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, also calls for North River to rescind its prior objections to pending class action settlements involving claims asserted against Inex and drywall manufacturer Knauf.
