Fla. Judge Rejects Insurer’s Bid to Revisit Coverage Ruling in Chinese Drywall Case

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A federal judge in Florida has refused to reconsider a decision that Great American Insurance Co. has a duty to defend a general contractor against a class action filed by owners of a condominium complex that contained Chinese drywall.
In a Nov. 2 order, Judge Paul C. Huck of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida again rejected Great American’s contention that allegations in the drywall class action fell within exclusions contained in the policy it issued the general contractor.
