Excess Insurer Mistaken About Proposed Amendments to Global Chinese Drywall Settlements, Participants Say

NEW ORLEANS — The plaintiffs’ steering committee, Knauf, InEx and its primary insurers have united to clear up what they say are misstatements made in a brief filed recently by North River Insurance Co. regarding amendments to global Chinese drywall settlements in which the excess insurer has so far refused to participate.

In a response brief filed Oct. 23, the parties claim that North River’s interpretation of the amendments, which included provisions that could be binding on the excess insurer, was “wrong on all counts.”
