Plaintiffs Accuse Knauf of Failing to Fund Chinese Drywall Settlement

NEW ORLEANS — Several plaintiffs who settled property damage claims with Knauf Plasterboard Tianjin Co., but have not yet been paid by the Chinese drywall manufacturer, filed a motion recently in the MDL asking the court to enforce the agreements.
According to a motion filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, Knauf represented to plaintiffs’ counsel that it would fund the settlements in late September in exchange for a release of claims against the company; however, that has not occurred.
