Window Manufacturer MI Sues Insurers for Coverage of Class Action Suits

MIAMI — MI Windows & Doors has sued several of its insurers for coverage of class action lawsuits alleging that windows manufactured by the company are defective and caused damage to homes throughout the country.

In a declaratory judgment action filed recently in Florida, MI contends that the insurers have failed to provide a complete defense, and in some cases any defense at all, against the lawsuits, which have been consolidated in a multidistrict litigation proceeding pending in U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.
