Chinese Drywall Judge OKs Plaintiff Committee’s Motion to Seal Disqualification Motion

NEW ORLEANS — A federal judge in Louisiana has permitted the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee to file a motion for disqualification under seal in the federal Chinese Drywall MDL, despite objections from counsel handling similar cases in Florida state court.

Judge Eldon E. Fallon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana granted the PSC’s motion for leave to file the disqualification request on Sept. 5, one week after plaintiffs indicated that the motion and supporting documentation contained confidential and sensitive information.
