NEW ORLEANS — Taishan Gypsum has asked the federal MDL judge for permission to immediately appeal a decision that upheld default judgments against the Chinese drywall manufacturer and allowed claims to proceed against the company in U.S. courts.
In a Sept. 14 motion for immediate interlocutory appeal of an order Judge Eldon E. Fallon issued Sept. 4, Taishan cites several issues with the court’s analysis that led to a determination that the company’s business connections to Florida were sufficient to satisfy requirements for being sued by companies and residents in the state.
