Florida Judge OKs Builder’s Chinese Drywall Lawsuit Against Taishan Gypsum

MIAMI — A Florida judge has ruled that Lennar Homes may proceed with claims against Chinese drywall manufacturer Taishan Gypsum Co., holding that the foreign entity’s significant business dealings in the state require Taishan to defend itself against lawsuits related to the company’s allegedly defective product, HarrisMartin is reporting.
The Aug. 31 decision that found Taishan subject to the jurisdiction of Florida courts also rejected the drywall maker’s attempt to throw out a default judgment entered against the company in February 2010.
