Drywall Maker Taishan Denies Ties to Beijing Co. Despite Annual Report Data

NEW ORLEANS — Chinese drywall manufacturer Taishan Gypsum Co. Ltd. is challenging claims by the MDL plaintiffs’ steering committee that newly discovered information from the annual reports of Beijing New Building Materials Public Ltd. proves the two corporate entities are related.

In an Aug. 14 brief filed Aug. 14 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, Taishan denies that any of the new information cited by the PSC ties the alleged activities of BNBM to the drywall manufacturer in a manner that would solidify the MDL court’s jurisdiction over Taishan.
