Chinese Drywall Supplier Seeks Data from Habitat for Humanity Ahead of November Trial

NEW ORLEANS — Facing a late-November trial date, Chinese drywall supplier Interior Exterior Building Supply has asked the federal MDL court to allow it to fully depose the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity to determine what the non-profit knew about drywall it used in the construction of city homes.
In an Aug. 22 motion to compel filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, Interior Exterior maintains that extensive deposition testimony and document production from Habitat for Humanity is needed to prepare its defense against allegations that the company was aware of defects in Chinese drywall …
