Va. Housing Agency Re-Files Lawsuit Over Chinese Drywall in Low-Income Units




CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A Virginia state housing authority has sued a contractor and others it said were responsible for installing Chinese drywall in several agency-owned, low-income housing units that were destroyed by fire in 2005.

The complaint, filed July 30 in Chesapeake County Circuit Court, is the agency’s second attempt to secure damages from the defendants for violating a construction contract that called for a specific type of drywall to be installed during the rebuilding of the Geneva Square housing development.
