NEW ORLEANS - An installer and its insurer have sued a member-owned builders association, seeking reimbursement of funds the insurer provided a Florida resident to repair damage caused by Chinese drywall used in a home renovation project. Auto Owners Insurance Co., et al. v. Independent Builders Supply Association Inc., No. 12-1198 (E.D. La.).
The subrogation action was filed May 11 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana by Auto Owners Insurance Co., which says it paid an unspecified amount to cover a Tampa, Fla., homeowner who made a demand against Auto Owners' insured LLJ Construction.
