Taishan Loses Bid to Have Court Revisit Jurisdictional Discovery Ruling

NEW ORLEANS - The Chinese Drywall MDL judge has denied a motion by Taishan Gypsum Co. to reconsider the court's recent decision requiring the drywall manufacturer to produce information in the possession of affiliate Beijing New Building Materials. In Re: Chinese-Manufactured Drywall Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2047 (E.D. La.).

In an order entered Nov. 10, Judge Eldon E. Fallon ruled that the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee met all of its requirements for alleging a connection between the companies that could help determine whether the MDL court has personal jurisdiction over the Chinese entities.
